This Lagavulin has been matured in traditional refill American oak casks selected to give a perfect expression of distillery character. Soaring in taste and intensity, the flavour is powerful and assertive yet subtly sweet. Part of the Diageo Special Releases 2020 range, this expression is highly-limited.

The nose is mild overall, with unusually ashy top notes, but familiar hints of linseed oil soon evoking signature Lagavulin. At natural strength, the palate is soft and smooth in texture with a big taste that is sweeter than expected. A long and very smoky finish ensues, though a touch of water makes it sweeter.
